Starting your Stakeholder Pension Plan

Who can contribute to a Stakeholder Pension Plan?

UK residents up to the age of 75 can contribute.
Your employer, if you have one, can also contribute.
If you are eligible to join a company pension scheme, it would normally be a good idea for you to do so. In certain circumstances (described later) you can contribute to both a company pension and a Stakeholder Pension Plan.

Don't delay

The sooner you start saving for your retirement the better - it pays to start early. The cost of achieving the retirement income you want can increase dramatically as you get older.

And don't forget, with the Stakeholder Pension if your circumstances change, you are not locked into a fixed monthly contribution. You can always reduce the amount you contribute, or even stop and then start again if you want.
